Ghost clarification.

So, hi! c: I'm gonna try and keep this short, and I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I know that not everyone likes suggestions, but I think this one will be for the best of the site!

Well, a lot of people have different perceptions of ghosts. Some people believe ghosts can communicate with otherworldly forces, some people believe ghosts can fly. Of course, I know the site denies these ideas, but some can do's and cannot do's would be a good idea, methinks.

Also, I understand that ghosts cannot contact humans, but if ghosts can let's say, be on a swing or make a daisy chain, does that not show up in the real world, or is the after life a completely different place completely manipulatable by ghosts or..?

Finally, I know I said I'd keep this short but I have a question about mediums and psychics and the like. Obviously there's doubt that these exist, but what's the ruling? Especially with things like ouija boards around and haunted houses, what's the take on that? Can ghosts haunt things and interfere with people in that specific way or no? I'm not sure if these things would have been covered in anything you may or may not write up, so I figured I'd ask! I hope you don't mind!

whenever we make this site regardless of if we even put a clarification thread in the information board (which there isn't on this site because it's integrated in the rules) there is still always a question about it, so i'm not all that surprised.

the can do's and cannot do's IS a good idea, but the only thing about it is that there is a wide range of it that sometimes will get out of hand. Like i never knew people believed ghosts could fly, ghost pokemon, yes, but the idea of actual ghosts i had no idea. But if it is an issue i can definitely do that, although the majority of them are can-nots.

yes. the world they are in is meant to feel like they are still attached to the earth, even though they don't know if it is or not. Being connected in the world means that there is still something not fulfilled in their life and that's why they didn't pass over. It feels real, but it's not real. that means it is possible to think that they are haunting people because they can get a reaction. you could go into a coffee bar and smash a bunch of mugs and they will get a reaction.

although mediums and such are a thing, they are more so a thing of the real world. They could definitely be brought into threading for characters who have people from their previous like that would desperately wish to contact with them, you just need to figure out how to role play it since people in real life are not playable on the site.

but i never mind [: i hope that gets the majority of what you're asking some peace. but if the limitations of ghosts needs to be posted i can create a thread for it in the information board.

Haha, flying might have been a bad example to use. But like, a lot of people claim to see ghosts flickering with electricity and the like, so while you completely deny super powers, it's a possibility that someone could you know, go off on a little 'ARGH. ANGST.' rant in post and a reaction could be that things started flickering about and whatnot. I've seen that in a few cases, and just wondered, you know? c':

I vote for the clarification thread. Maybe it'll answer some questions before they're asked. I always like to know a bit more about the restrictions and limitations of the sort of.. Race? Or the gimmick that I'm getting involved in. Like ah, walking through walls and typical ghosty things can be different to different people as we all know, so maybe not even a clarification thread, but guidelines on what goes and stuff?

I guess I'm not really making any more progress in what I'm going on about, and I'm really just reiterating a point. It's your call, of course, but uhm, yeah! There's my thoughts on it. Just seemed like it might have been a good idea to go for, I'm not fussed either way. Thanks for responding so quick! c:

i do like the idea of flickering lights and what not. It's interesting and brings a lot more to it than the sad, deprived little ghosty. when i get some time i'll have to make the thread for it [:
